Welcome to our new page - Villagers' Voices

This page tells the personal stories of what Heathrow expansion means to those in the communities that would be heavily impacted by a third runway. Local resident stories

Hylton Garriock lives in Longford Village. He is angry at the concerns of climate change which seem to be ignored with Heathrow expansion and that Heathrow's foreign shareholders seek to make huge profits from a third runway. He also expresses his views on the lack of engagement from the Government.
Andrew Melville lives in Harmondsworth and believes that his quality of life will go downhill massively and suffers from anxiety through the threat posed by Heathrow Airport. He says the whole community "is despairing" at the ongoing threat.
Lesley O'Brien has lived in Harmondsworth since 1971 and is seriously concerned about the effects of Heathrow expansion on her community life. She wonders what will happen to the community when most of it has gone and the threat of having to move home.
Christine Taylor lives in Harlington which is in Heathrow's "Wider Property Offer Zone" which means Heathrow accept that many communities that would not be directly destroyed to build a third runway would become unliveable due to excessive noise and pollution. Christine says Heathrow need to invest more in the local villages as they are now and not decimated by a third runway
Kay Wiblin lives in Longford and works in Harmondsworth and has made lifelong friends and is concerned about the loss of schools, places of worship without parishioners, and other community facilities that will be lost if Heathrow's expansion goes ahead.
Beverley Cornwell lives in Harmondsworth and talks about the threat of the loss of her home and livelihood. She works for the local community mental health team and is concerned about the impact the third runway will have on the community if it is decimated.
Eilish Stone lives in Harmondsworth, having previously lived in Longford, and has been fighting against a third runway since 2003. She says the threat of Heathrow expansion means she has been denied basic human rights of the enjoyment of her home and quality of life and that her retirement has been ruined by the ongoing and repeated threats of a third runway.
Julian Mosses lives in Harmondsworth Village and talks about the "disastrous consequences" that losing his home will have. He speaks about important local connectivity that the area has, but that does not mean Heathrow should increase in size.
Jane Taylor lives in Sipson and is Chair of Harmondsworth and Sipson Residents Association. She is part of a family who has lived in the Heathrow villages for centuries, well before Heathrow opened. The constant threat of a third runway means much of her time is taken up fighting against Heathrow's plan to destroy her home, family and community life.
Jane Crier has live in Harmondsworth for 50 years, with family being in the village since 1937. Jane and her family are stressed by the prospect of Heathrow expansion because of the uncertainty it leaves for many years ahead.
Armelle Thomas lives in Harmondsworth. She is fighting a serious health battle which she says has been brought about by the impact of the third runway on her life. She talks about the sad loss of her husband in 2015, which she said was brought about by the prospect of losing their home in the village to make way for a third runway.
